We’re excited to announce that New World Te Atatū will be opening its doors August 2026, offering a new full-service modern supermarket and creating 120 new roles for the Peninsula. 

We’re now looking for a Bakery Assistant Manager who’s ready to help build a high‑performing team, support a positive store culture, and uphold strong operational standards from day one. This role is a chance to step into a key leadership position where your initiative, reliability, and people skills will directly contribute to the success of a brand‑new store and help create an experience our customers will love from the moment we open our doors.

Te Tūranga – About the role

• Work alongside the Bakery Manager to ensure the department runs smoothly and that all targets are met or exceeded.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of all facets of day-to-day operations within the department.
• Maintain Food and Health & Safety standards, store policies and procedures.
• Ensure staff are well trained to provide the best shopping experience for our customers.
• Assist with food preparations and baking goods.

He kōrero mōu - About you

• A qualified Baker or previous experience within a cafe/bakery environment.
• A passion for food including baking specialty breads and sweet treats.
• Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
• Customer-driven.
• A good eye for quality and presentation.
• Able to strictly follow our Food Safety and Health and Safety program.
• Great people skills and ability to lead, train and inspire a small team.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and a good team player.
