Bakery Assistant Manager
An exciting opportunity exists within our store for an enthusiastic and reliable qualified Baker to step up in to the role of Bakery 2IC. Or maybe you are possibly already working in this role elsewhere and are looking for a change of scene and new challenge in a different store.
Our store was recently taken over by new Owner Operators who bring with them a wealth of Pak’n Save experience. They are highly engaged and in the business, striving to drive Pak’n Save Palmerston North in a new and different direction for both our customers and the team alike. Can you join us on this journey?
The primary role of the position is to assist the Bakery Manager in maximising sales and achieving specified profit margins all whilst managing expenses, stock levels and working alongside and driving the team so that our customers receive an outstanding shopping experience all whilst being a real team player.
The successful applicant will be able to:
Deputise for the Bakery Manager as required
Assist in ensuring sales and GP targets for the department are met or exceeded and that wage costs are controlled appropriately.
Undertake the assigned tasks of a Baker as required
Working alongside the Bakery Manager to ensure all team members receive an appropriate induction / orientation to the department and receive appropriate ongoing training support. Helping to ensure we create a fun and hardworking department where people are happy in there work and want to be here.
Merchandise the department to a very high standard
Stock taking procedures and department administration
You will be a part of an environment which encourages and assists professional development. The days and hours of work will be discussed with the successful applicant but will include one weekend day. Food Handling Certificate 167 and 168 or equivalent preferred.
Applicants must be entitled to work in New Zealand and proof of residency or visa will be required at interview.
