Bakery Manager – New World Point Chevalier

We’re excited to announce that New World Point Chevalier will be joining the community later this year! With a brand-new store and impressive offering across grocery, butchery, deli, bakery, produce and liquor, we can’t wait to open our doors to the Point Chev community.

With our opening set for early September 2025, we’re currently seeking an experienced Bakery Manager to join the team. As a department manager, you’ll play an integral part in our journey towards a successful store opening and continuously deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our community. 

About the role:

As a Bakery Manager, you're leading the bakery team daily to make customer driven decisions and deliver an outstanding customer experience with delicious and unique bakery offerings! You will also be responsible for:

• End to end ownership & management of the department including buying, price integrity, rostering, food safety, Health & Safety, stock management. 
• Ensure departments meet the highest standards, is fresh and displayed attractively for our customers. 
• Lead and inspire a team of bakery & deli assistants who excel at consistently delivering high standards.
• Listen to customers to find out what they want and need in one simple shop. 
• Search constantly for areas to improve our operations, productivity, and efficiency.
• Deliver on financial performance targets including budgets, wage percentages and sales forecasting.

What we’re looking for:

• A qualified Baker or previous experience within a cafe/bakery environment is advantageous. 
• A passion for food including baking speciality breads and sweet treats.
• Customer-driven.
• A good eye for quality and presentation.
• Able to strictly follow our Food Safety and Health and Safety program.
• Great people skills and ability to lead, train and inspire a small team.
• Reliable, self-motivated and be a good team player.
