We have a team of over 170 highly passionate and dedicated individuals that make sure our customers get a great customer experience, which is why we are looking for a passionate, customer focused, Butchery Assistant to support daily operations, ensuring our customers receive top‑quality products and service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Butchery Assistant, your primary role will be to pack, present and merchandise to ensure that a maximum range and sufficient quantity of product is available for sale at the correct price at all times, as well as keeping the department clean, attractively presented, and assist the department to meet its legislative requirements. Some of the key areas for the role will be:

• Assisting with meat preparation
• Packaging, labeling, and displaying products to a high standard
• Assisting in prepping special customer orders.
• Assisting in ensuring all deliveries are unloaded in a timely fashion thus avoiding wastage.
• Assisting in ensuring all appropriate cleaning takes place in the department.
• Follow Health and Safety Policy, Food Safety Policy and compliance procedures in the store.
• Completing appropriate daily, weekly and monthly food safety traceability forms as required.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

Here is what we are looking for in the ideal candidate:

• Previous experience in a Butchery
• Willingness to learn and develop butchery skills
• A “can do” attitude
• Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
• Reliable and able to work well as part of a team
• Right to work in New Zealand
