Butchery & Seafood Manager


We’re excited to announce that New World Te Atatū will be opening its doors August 2026, offering a new full-service modern supermarket and creating 120 new roles for the Peninsula. 

We’re now looking for a Butchery & Seafood Manager who is ready to build a high-performing team, shape our store culture, and set the standard for operational excellence from day one. Te Tūranga – About the role

  • Have end to end ownership of the Butchery & Seafood department including buying, price integrity, rostering, food safety, and stock management.
  • Ensure all products meet the highest standards, are fresh and merchandised attractively.
  • Listen to customers to find out what they want and need in one simple shop.
  • Search constantly for areas to improve our butchery & seafood operations, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Ensure all meat and seafood displayed in the case is correctly trayed, wrapped, and labelled.
  • Lead and inspire a team of butchery & seafood assistants.
  • Deliver on commercial outcomes to drive growth in the store.
  • Deliver on financial performance targets including budgets, wage percentages, and sales forecasting.

He kōrero mōu - About you

  • Qualified Butcher with proven experience leading a team.
  • Strong food safety and health & safety knowledge.
  • Previous experience with SAP is desirable.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and a good team player.
  • Customer service experience.
