We’re excited to announce that New World Te Atatū will be opening its doors August 2026, offering a new full-service modern supermarket and creating 120 new roles for the Peninsula. 

We’re now looking for a Buyer who’s keen to play an important role in setting the store up for success from day one. This role focuses on accurate buying, maintaining strong stock availability, and supporting smooth day‑to‑day operations. In this role you’ll directly contribute towards creating a great experience for our customers from the moment we open our doors.

Te Tūranga – About the role

• Oversight of stock range, ensuring range matched the format and customer service requirements whilst optimising stock levels and stock turn. 
  
• Ensure orders are placed on time and manage any delivery discrepancies. 
  
• Manually receipt in DC delivery for grocery and chilled & frozen.
  
• Review category shelf layouts to ensure product is merchandised to the highest standard and sales and profit potential is reached.
  
• Achieve price integrity by ensuring all process are always correct in SAP and POS equipment.
  
• Cycle counting.

He kōrero mōu - About you

• Previous buying experience in a supermarket setting.
  
• Solid understanding of category flow and merchandising. 
  
• Understanding of SAP and Symphony software.
  
• Strong relationship building and negotiation skills. 
  
• Reliable, self-motivated and a team player.
