New World Point Chevalier – Buying and Inventory Manager
We’re excited to announce that New World Point Chevalier will be joining the community later this year! With a brand-new store and impressive offering across grocery, butchery, deli, bakery, produce and liquor, we can’t wait to open our doors to the Point Chev community.
With our opening date set for early September 2025, we’re seeking a data-driven Buying and Inventory Manager to join the team. As part of our leadership team, you’ll play an integral part in our journey towards a successful store opening and continuously deliver an awesome shopping experience for our community.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven capability with SAP within a supermarket environment.
- Understanding of inventory and stock flow.
- Data-driven – comfortable reviewing data and looking for ways to improve within store.
- Previous buying and inventory experience.
- Process driven and analytical.
- Autonomous worker.
The Role
As Buying & Inventory Manager your key focus area will be ensuring our inventory is as accurate as possible by implementing strong processes for stock management and analysing data. You’ll work closely with the Dry Goods Manager and Dry departments but also have the chance to be involved with the wider store.
- Oversee and manage stock flow and levels in our store.
- Create and utilise reports and inventory management systems to identify issues before they occur and design creative and preventative practices and solutions.
- Maintain and work to stock control procedures – keeping product maintenance up to date.
- Recording and checking of gains and losses, monitor stock in credits and maintain visibility of dated stock.
- Daily gap scanning – analysing gaps and looking into inventory settings to ensure gaps are reduced.
- Category reviews.
- Reviewing centralised buying planograms.
- Ranging.
