Checkout Manager – New World Point Chevalier

We’re excited to announce that New World Point Chevalier will be joining the community later this year! With a brand-new store and impressive offering across grocery, butchery, deli, bakery, produce and liquor, we can’t wait to open our doors to the Point Chev community.

With our opening set for early September 2025, we’re currently seeking an experienced Checkout Manager to join the team. As a department manager, you’ll play an integral part in our journey towards a successful store opening and continuously deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our community. 

The Role:  

As a Checkout Manager, you’ll be part of the frontline team. Here, customers have the most contact with our team and we’re focused on creating an awesome customer experience.

• You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the checkout department.
• Ensure all customers’ needs are met and they receive the highest quality customer service.
• Complete rosters, conduct performance reviews, and training.
• Setting the standards and ensuring they are met day in and day out.
• Build relationships with the wider team and management to get the absolute best results. 
• Ensuring the responsible sale of alcohol.

What are we looking for: 

• Previous supermarket experience.
• An understanding of managing department financials and budgets.
• SAP experiences desirable.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Strong leadership skills – experience leading large teams.
• Proven customer service experience.
• Sound computer literacy and keen to learn and use the latest technology.
• Previous duty manager or sole charge experience advantageous.
• LCQ and/or Managers Certificate and experience selling alcohol is advantageous.
