We’re excited to announce that New World Te Atatū will be opening its doors August 2026, offering a new full-service modern supermarket and creating 120 new roles for the Peninsula. 

We’re now looking for a Deli Assistant Managerwho’s ready to help build a high‑performing team, support a positive store culture, and uphold strong operational standards from day one. This role is a chance to step into a key leadership position where your initiative, reliability, and people skills will directly contribute to the success of a brand‑new store and help create an experience our customers will love from the moment we open our doors.

 

Te Tūranga – About the role

  • Assist the Deli Manager to meet department targets and operational delivery standards.
  • Plan and coordinate all facets of the day-to-day operations and processes of the Bakery & Deli department.
  • Assist with food preparation and merchandising.
  • Maintain health & safety and food safety compliance.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.

  • Hospitality and/or food-to-go, deli, or bakery experience.
  • Great people skills and leadership potential.
  • An understanding of compliance, health & safety and food safety.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Reliable, honest, and a good team player.
  • Ability to multitask and work at a pace with attention to detail.
  • Self-starter and the ability to work across cross-functional departments.
