Deli Manager (Food Production)


We’re excited to announce that New World Te Atatū will be opening its doors August 2026, offering a new full-service modern supermarket and creating 120 new roles for the Peninsula. 

We’re now looking for a Deli Manager who is ready to build a high-performing team, shape our store culture, and set the standard for operational excellence from day one. Te Tūranga – About the role

  • As Deli Manager, you’ll lead the end‑to‑end production of a high‑quality deli and catering offer, ensuring freshness, consistency, and volume production standards are met every day, while also developing and supervising a high‑performing team.
  • Lead and coach a production‑focused deli team, delivering consistent, high‑quality food made fresh daily.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute an outstanding deli and catering offer, meeting volume, quality, and presentation standards.
  • Oversee production planning, yield, and waste control to maximise profitability.
  • Ensure all food is produced, displayed, and sold in line with food safety, compliance, and quality expectations.
  • Deliver eye‑catching merchandising that reflects a strong food proposition and seasonal variety.
  • Manage department budgets, stock flow, ordering, and sales performance.
  • Work closely with store leadership to build a food‑led, customer‑focused culture.

He kōrero mōu - About you

  • Previous experience working in a deli or food-preparation environment.
  • Strong food safety knowledge, including food control plans, temperature monitoring, allergen management, and hygiene standards.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Previous experience using SAP.
