Dry Goods Manager


About the Role

You'll be responsible for:

  • End to end ownership, management and leadership of our Online team, Grocery, Storeroom, General Merchandise, Chilled, Frozen and Liquor departments
  • Ensuring the shop is full, all products meet the highest standards, are fresh, stock rotation is executed, shelves and displays are attractive and well presented, and out of stocks are minimised and managed
  • Ensuring our Online Customers needs are met and executed efficiently.
  • Using initiative and proactively taking action to drive improvement and remedy adverse tends
  • Leading and developing your team, while focusing on our store values and positive store culture and managing performance
  • Listen to customers feedback and adapting to meet their needs
  • Ensure compliance and processes are maintained including food safety (Safe Food Pro), Vworks and our Health and Safety Program
  • Constantly reflecting and identifying opportunities to improve our operations, productivity, and efficiency
  • Deliver on financial performance targets including budgets, wage percentages, good order score and sales forecasting
  • Reporting to and collaborating with our Owner Operator as well as working closely with Online team, our buyer and floor managers

What are we looking for

  • A passion for people and product with a keen eye for quality and presentation
  • Strong work ethic - reliable, self-motivated, dedicated and a true team player
  • Ability to strictly follow our Food Safety and Health and Safety protocols
  • Sound computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems easily - SAP knowledge is an advantage
  • Proven leadership and customer service experience
  • Managers Certificate/Liquor License, Forklift License preferred

To be considered for this role they will need to have had 1 years' experience in a New World Supermarket. A proven ability to supervise or manage a medium to large sized team and be able to demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills. They will also have a great attitude and work ethic, honesty, a high level of integrity, display high presentation standards, great delegation skills and have an eye for detail.
