New World Brookfield is seeking an experienced Baker to join our dedicated bakery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional who takes pride in producing high-quality breads, pastries, cakes, and savoury products from scratch.

 

Position Details

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Sunday to Thursday roster
• Early morning shifts: 2:00am - 10:30am
• One weekend day required
• Pay rate: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role

You will be responsible for producing a wide range of bakery products using commercial baking methods and equipment. Working to production schedules, you'll ensure products are consistently prepared to a high standard while maintaining food safety, quality, and presentation requirements.

 

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing, mixing, scaling, and moulding doughs
• Producing artisan and specialty breads
• Monitoring fermentation and proving processes
• Baking products using commercial ovens
• Producing cakes, pastries, pies, and savoury items
• Decorating and finishing bakery products
• Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
• Managing production volumes and minimising waste

What We're Looking For

Applicants must have:

• A minimum of three years' relevant commercial baking experience, or
• A recognised baking qualification supported by relevant industry experience

You will also demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of commercial baking processes
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• High attention to detail and product quality
• Understanding of food safety and health and safety requirements
• Reliability and commitment to early morning shifts
