About the Role

Reporting to the Bakery Manager, you will play a key role in:

• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Bakery Department.
• Leading and motivating the bakery team to deliver exceptional results.
• Ensuring the highest standards of product quality, presentation, and food safety.
• Managing production planning to maximise sales opportunities while minimising waste.
• Assisting with rostering, training, and team development.
• Maintaining strong merchandising standards and ensuring full shelves throughout trading hours.
• Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within the department.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Proven bakery experience within a supermarket, commercial bakery, or food manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of bakery products, production processes, and food safety requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A passion for fresh food and delivering quality products.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Ideally You Will Also Have:

• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team-leading experience.
• Experience coaching and developing team members.
• Strong communication and people management skills.
• Experience with inventory, ordering, and production planning.
• A commercial mindset with an understanding of sales, waste management, and profitability.
