Assistant Chef

New World The Sands has joined the Papamoa community! With a brand-new store and impressive offering across grocery, butchery, deli, bakery, produce and liquor, we ‘ve had a great first year of trading!

We are seeking a full time Assistant Chef to join our Delicatessen Team working an early shift across the week, including one weekend day. As part of our Delicatessen Team, you’ll play an integral part in delivering an awesome fresh food offering and shopping experience for our community. 

The Role:

• Cooking and food preparation.
• Merchandising to ensure deli cases are fresh and appealing.
• Prepare and present a variety of meats and deli products to the highest standard.
• Contribute creative ideas to menu development.

• Proven experience in a café, restaurant or deli environment with a strong understanding of food preparation and presentation.

• Ability to develop new and exciting deli options that cater to a variety of tastes.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Able to follow food safety and compliance processes.
• Reliable, honest and a good team player.
