We're looking for an experienced Commercial Baker to join our busy supermarket bakery team. This is an opportunity for a skilled all-rounder who takes pride in getting the basics right every day, while also having the creativity and passion to introduce new products, flavours and trends that excite our customers.

Experience within the Foodstuffs network would be highly regarded, but we're also keen to hear from bakers with strong commercial bakery experience from other high-volume bakery environments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Baker, your primary role will be to assist in the day-to-day running of the Bakery department, ensuring that a maximum range and sufficient quantity of high quality freshly baked products are available for sale at the correct price at all times during opening hours. Some of the key areas for the role will be:

• Producing high-quality bakery products daily whilst maintaining production schedules and minimising wastage.
• Maintaining exceptional standards of presentation and freshness
• Ensuring food safety, health & safety and compliance standards are met
• Assisting in ensuring all appropriate cleaning takes place in the department.
• Contributing new ideas, seasonal products and innovative bakery offerings
• Helping create a destination bakery that customers talk about and return for

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

Here is what we are looking for in the ideal candidate:

• Commercial Bakery experience is a must!
• Supermarket experience is ideal with knowledge in a wide range of bakery products
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
• Comply with our food control plan / health and safety programme
• Right to work in New Zealand
