We’re a growing, community-focused supermarket set against the iconic Mount Taranaki, just 15 minutes from New Plymouth. Our team is at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud of the great feedback we receive from customers about both our products and our friendly service.

We’re looking for an experienced Baker to join our team. We use Yarrow’s Frozen Dough for breads and rolls, and make our cakes, muffins, and scones from scratch. For the right candidate, we’re also open to appointing a Senior Baker or Bakery Manager.

About the Role

• Prepare, bake, and finish a wide range of bakery products
• Maintain high standards of quality, freshness, and presentation
• Plan and manage daily production to meet demand
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met
• Work closely with the team to deliver great customer service

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

• Experienced baker with a background in commercial or supermarket baking
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, equipment, and food safety
• Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment
• Good organisational and time-management skills

Personal Attributes

• Positive, reliable, and self-motivated
• Strong attention to detail
• Team player with good communication skills
• Customer-focused with a “can-do” attitude

Additional Requirements

• Willing to get involved in all aspects of the bakery (production, packing, cleaning)
• Comfortable with early starts and physical work
• Physically fit (lifting up to 20kg required)
