Baker – New World Kapiti

We are looking for an experienced bread baker to join our awesome bakery team!  

New World Kapiti is a locally owned and run supermarket in Paraparaumu committed to providing our community with high-quality products and excellent customer service.  Our bakery products have a great reputation in our community. 

We are looking for a hardworking, friendly, team member who has great attention to detail and good communication skills and is a motivated team player who enjoys baking!  

The position is full time, will involve a weekend shift, and early starts. Early morning shifts mean you must have your own reliable transport.

Ideally, you will have completed your bakery apprenticeship or have at least one year’s supermarket bread baking experience (there may be opportunities for a baking apprenticeship in the future if you haven’t yet completed one). Experience in scratch baking specialty breads, and pastry products would be preferred but is not required.

• Good organisational and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Dedication to customer service
• A good understanding of stock rotation
• Cleanliness – and to comply with our food safety and health and safety programs
• Team player, but also able to work independently and follow instruction
• Flexibility - to be called on for extra shifts, or to work longer shifts when necessary to meet production needs at certain times of the year
• To be physically fit, healthy and able to lift up to 20kg;
