BAKER

We are looking for an experienced Baker to join us in store.

The successful applicant will have bakery experience and the confidence to work on both bread and cake sides of the department.  

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Bakery Qualifications
• Bakery experience, minimum one year specialising in bread baking from scratch
• Great communication skills and a good level of English
• Work well in a team
• Be physically fit and able to lift / move heavy bakery items
• Have the ability to work on the sweet side of bakery and decorate cakes

This position is for employment in Kumeu, Auckland and is a permanent full-time role of 42.5 hours, rostered days of the week are

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday shifts.

The hourly rate is between $28 - $30 depending on experience and suitable qualifications. 

Duties of a Baker include:

-Baking required daily levels of bread, rolls and other bread products. 

-Making bread dough from scratch.

-Baking, icing and decorating cakes for customer orders and displays.

-Producing other bakery specific products as required (e.g. scones, muffins, pies, pizzas, cookies etc.) 

-Merchandising the product in the department and ensuring effective stock rotation through the monitoring of best before dates. 

-Receiving inwards goods. 

-Assist on the case and serve customers as required. 

-Effectively resolve customer enquiries and/or complaints unless management approval is required. 

-Maintain a daily production schedule and minimise wastage in baking. 

-Follow Health and Safety Policy, Food Safety Policy and compliance procedures in the store. 

-Ensure Food Safety standards are maintained through completion of appropriate daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of tins, trays and ovens.

-Undertake temperature checks on the case and ingredients (e.g. egg pulp) on a regular basis. 

-Complete the traceability forms as required
