We have a passionate and hardworking team and are looking for a similar minded baker to join us in a full-time position, with the hours being a minimum of 40hrs per week.

We proudly craft our breads and pastry from scratch (no premixes here) with an emphasis on freshly made products.

The rate for a qualified baker will be $29.66-$30 per hour, we also will help with relocation costs for you and your family. New World Matamata is located in a central location of the Upper North Island – with only a short 45 minutes to Mt Maunganui, Rotorua and Hamilton.

Qualifications, Experience & Key Tasks:

• Bakery Qualification Level 4 or higher is required
• 1-2 years previous baking experience essential
• Previous supermarket retail experience
• Baking required daily levels of bread, rolls and other bread products
• Baking, icing, and decorating cakes for customer orders as well as for display
• Preparing and baking pastries including appropriate fillings
• Producing other bakery specific products as required i.e. scones, muffins, biscuits, slices fresh cream products, pies, sausage rolls, pizzas, etc.
• Receive inwards goods ensuring products meet Food Safety requirements
• Maintain daily production schedule and minimise wastage
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and able to effectively resolve all customer related enquiries
• Healthy and physically fit to work in a fast-paced bakery team
• Reliable team player able to work early starts and/or late finishes with flexibility to work non rostered days as required
