Bakery Assistant-Kerikeri


The primary role of the Bakery Assistant position is the following:

  • Complete all daily cleaning and sanitizing duties in the department  
  • Maintain all Food Safety and Health and Safety compliance procedures
  • Pack, present and merchandise bakery products
  • Ensure the Bakery Department is clean, tidy and attractively presented
  • Taking customer orders, serving customers and handling customer related enquiries appropriately

The successful applicant will:

  • Be physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role which may include lifting
  • Have a good command of written and spoken English
  • Demonstrate good basic math skills
  • Display excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, flexibility and use of initiative 
  • Be able to work independently and cooperatively in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess the capability to multitask to meet deadlines

This position is full time(40hrs+), 5 days per week, with a requirement for one shift on the weekend. The ability/availability for early morning starts at 4/5am are essential.
