Bakery assistant manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Bakery Assistant manager to support the Bakery Manager in leading our busy and successful department. About the role

This is a full-time position, working Sunday to Thursday, 4:00am – 12:30pm.

This is a hands-on role combining bakery production with department leadership responsibilities. You’ll work alongside the team producing a wide range of bakery products while supporting the Bakery Manager with the day-to-day running of the department.

You'll assist with ordering, stock management, production planning, team coordination, training and rostering, while helping to develop new products and maintain high standards across the department. You'll also play a key role in ensuring the bakery is well stocked, visually appealing, efficient, and consistently delivering quality products and excellent customer service.

As the Bakery assistant manager, you'll step up to lead the department in the Bakery Manager's absence and help drive the success of the team.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

• Previous experience in a food production
• Leadership or supervisory experience, or a desire to step into a leadership role
• A passion for producing quality food products
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and people leadership skills
• A positive, self-motivated attitude
• Strong attention to detail and presentation standards
• Physically fit and able to undertake heavy lifting
• A commitment to food safety and delivering excellent customer service
