Bakery Assistant

New World Pioneer is a large format, locally owned and operated supermarket in Palmerston North.  We employ a team of 200+ who pride themselves on delivering exceptional Customer Service.  Our Bakery department is very progressive and we encourage and support our team to continually up-skill through instore training and apprenticeships.

We're on the lookout for a motivated Bakery Assistant to join our team at New World Pioneer that's passionate about baking and thrives in a team environment.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00am – 11:30am.
You will be involved across the bakery department, this position is fast-paced and hands-on, key responsibilities include:

• Finishing and decorating a variety of bakery products
• Packing and presenting products to a high standard
• Carrying out daily production of baked goods
• Maintaining a clean, safe department while meeting all food safety and workplace health & safety standards

About you

The successful applicant will have:

• Previous bakery experience (advantageous)
• Physical fitness - you'll be on your feet all day and will need to be able to lift the boxes of stock. 
• A passion for quality and consistency
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliability and a positive team attitude
