Bakery Assistant

Do you have a passion for baking, a creative eye for detail, and a love for making delicious treats look as good as they taste?

New World Pukekohe is looking for a Bakery Assistant to join our team, with a focus on sweet production!

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating and finishing beautiful bakery products, from perfectly decorated donuts to delicious cakes and other sweet treats. If you enjoy working with food, have high standards, and love seeing the results of your work on display, we’d love to hear from you!

 

What will you be doing?

• Preparing, finishing and presenting a range of sweet bakery products, including donuts, cakes and other treats.

   

   

• Ensuring all products are finished to a high standard, with excellent presentation and attention to detail.

   

   

• Maintaining consistent product quality and presentation across the department.

   

   

• Keeping your work area clean, tidy and organised while following food safety and health and safety procedures.

   

   

• Working alongside the wider Bakery team to ensure products are prepared and available for our customers.

   

   

• Helping deliver an outstanding customer experience through quality products and great service.

   

   

What are we looking for?

• A genuine passion for baking, particularly sweet production and decorating.

   

   

• An eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality, visually appealing products.

   

   

• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

   

   

• The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.

   

   

• Reliability, initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

   

   

• A strong commitment to food safety, cleanliness and customer service.

   

   

Previous bakery experience would be an advantage, particularly in sweet production, donut finishing or cake decorating. However, if you have the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn, we’d love to hear from you!

 

 

The role

• Location: New World Pukekohe

   

   

• Roster: Sunday to Thursday

   

   

• Hours: Evening shifts, with total weekly hours to be confirmed
