Bakery Manager

We are seeking an experienced Bakery Manager to provide the strong people leadership our bakery needs right now. This is a pivotal role focused on setting clear expectations, holding the team accountable, and lifting standards across the department. You will play a key part in shaping performance, culture, and results as we continue to develop a vibrant, high-quality bakery offering, all while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of working in the sunny Coromandel.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who leads from the front, enjoys developing people, and has the confidence to drive consistent standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

About the role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the bakery, with accountability for product quality, food safety, presentation, people performance, and commercial outcomes.

Among other things, you will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the production of high-quality products made with pride by our Bakers
  
• Developing and evolving an exciting range of specialty breads, cakes, and pastries
• Driving sales growth and achieving key financial targets, including GP
• Producing and managing staffing rosters that reflect seasonal trading patterns
• Providing strong leadership, coaching, and development for the bakery team
• Setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable for performance, standards, and behaviours
• Leading performance management discussions and addressing issues early and professionally
• Ensuring excellent food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards at all times

You will bring:

• Proven experience as a Bakery Manager, Senior Baker, or similar leadership role
  
• Strong people leadership skills, with the confidence to have courageous conversations
• Demonstrated experience holding teams accountable and driving performance improvement
• Excellent baking knowledge and hands-on technical expertise
• Strong planning, organisation, and time-management skills
• A professional, positive attitude with a strong focus on standards
