Butcher / Knife Hand (Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities)

PAK'nSAVE Tauriko is looking for motivated, reliable, and hardworking Butchers / Knife Hands to join our busy Butchery Department.

We currently have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, making this a great opportunity for experienced butchers, skilled knife hands, or those looking to further develop their skills within the meat industry.

About the Role

As a Butcher / Knife Hand, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing, cutting, and presenting meat products to the high standards our customers expect
• Assisting with trimming, portioning, and processing meat products
• Ensuring product quality, presentation, and freshness standards are maintained
• Assisting with the preparation, packaging, and merchandising of products within the department
• Maintaining food safety, health and safety, and hygiene standards
• Assisting with stock rotation and waste minimisation
• Providing excellent customer service when required
• Working collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental goals

Positions Available

Full-Time Position

Roster:

• Monday: 4:00am - 1:30pm
• Tuesday: 5:00am - 2:00pm
• Wednesday: 4:00am - 1:30pm
• Thursday: 5:00am - 2:00pm
• Sunday: 5:00am - 2:00pm

Part-Time Position

Roster:

• Friday: 5:00am - 2:00pm
• Saturday: 6:00am - 3:30pm

Both roles involve early morning starts, so reliability and punctuality are essential.

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will:

• Have previous butchery, knife hand, or meat processing experience
• Be comfortable and confident using knives and working with meat products
• Have excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Be physically fit and capable of handling repetitive manual tasks
• Be reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning starts
• Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Work well both independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety and food safety practices
