Butcher/Knife Hand

We have one Full-Time and one Part-Time opportunity available. Successful applicants must be available to work one weekend day.

While this role does involve some early starts, you'll also enjoy the advantage of early finishes, leaving more time to enjoy your afternoons.

About the Role

Location: New World Brookfield, Tauranga, New Zealand

Key Responsibilities

• Cutting, trimming, boning, and preparing meat products to specification
• Assisting with the production of value-added products and displays
• Maintaining high standards of product quality, freshness, and presentation
• Ensuring all food safety, health, and hygiene requirements are followed
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment, tools, and work areas
• Assisting with stock rotation, stock control, and merchandising
• Supporting the Butchery team to meet daily production requirements
• Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service when required

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Knifehand, Trainee Butcher, or Butcher in a retail or commercial butchery environment
• New Zealand Certificate in Trade Butchery (Level 4) is advantageous but not essential
• Sound knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and food safety practices
• Strong knife skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, hardworking, and motivated with a positive attitude
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Good level of physical fitness and ability to undertake manual handling tasks
