About the role

New World Whitianga is seeking an experienced full-time Butcher to join their team in Whitianga, Waikato. As a Butcher, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, fresh meat products to our customers and ensuring the smooth operation of our in-store butchery.

What you'll be doing

• Expertly cutting, trimming, and preparing a wide variety of meats to the highest standards
• Providing exceptional customer service by advising customers on the best cuts and preparation methods
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked butchery department
• Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
• Assisting with the training and development of junior butchery staff
• Collaborating with the wider store team to ensure efficient operations

What we're looking for

• At least 2 years of experience as a qualified Butcher, with a strong understanding of meat cutting techniques and food safety practices
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide knowledgeable advice to customers
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
• A passion for the butchery trade and a desire to provide the best possible service to our customers
