Butchery 2IC / Assistant Manager

We are currently seeking a qualified Butcher (or have a minimum 5+ years equivalent experience)  with leadership experience to be part of the amazing team at New World Mangawhai!

Butchery 2IC Role:

• Operationally hand on focused role
• Ensure the meat cases and freezers are appropriately stocked and maintained
• Correctly & efficiently slice and cut all meat
• Assist in the traying up of meat as required
• Maintain daily operation in collaboration with the Butchery Manager
• Support the Butchery Manager in leading the team and department
• Support with ordering and other admin tasks
• Maintain an exciting, fresh, customer experience driven serve over
• Ensure all customer special orders are prepared to agreed timeframes
• Support and drive Health Safety and Wellbeing, Food Safety, and all store procedures  
• Ensure high presentation standards for the butchery department & store
• Support the Seafood Manager and seafood department as needed

• Must be qualified (or have 5+ year equivalent experience in butchery)

• Reliable, honest and be a good team player
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Confidence & maturity to work unassisted at times
