BUTCHERY ASSISTANT / APPRENTICE

We are looking for someone to join our busy team here at New World Kapiti in Paraparaumu in the role of Butchery Assistant/Meat Packer.  Our ideal candidate is someone with a high degree of self-motivation, who feels comfortable handling raw meat, who can work in a cold environment, is physically fit, and has high personal presentation standards.

The role is full time and involves a weekend shift and early mornings.

• Can you work effectively within a team environment as well as unsupervised?

• Are you comfortable handling raw meat and working in cold environments?

If successful you will be part of a hard-working small team that offers extensive experience, knowledge, support, and training.  You will be responsible for assisting our butchers in making sure the packing, labelling, and presentation of all meat is undertaken as per Food Safety / Health and Safety / business guidelines and expectations, as well as general cleaning duties, and helping with customer enquiries.

This is a great entry-level role for someone looking to learn and develop in the butchery trade, with the potential opportunity to undertake a butchery apprenticeship in the future.
