Butchery Assistant - New World Remuera

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven individual to join our Butchery Department at New World Remuera as a Butchery Assistant on a part time basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Butchery Manager, you will contribute to the running of the department by helping and aiding the team of qualified butchers produce cuts of fresh meat to offer to our customers. You will also contribute to the wider team but helping to merchandise the Department, helping to ensure the cabinet is full.

• Packing and wrapping all cuts and kinds of meat using the auto-wrapper
• Merchandising the cabinet, rotating stock and ensuring the cabinet is tidy and full well presented 
• Labelling meat with correct prices and ensuring consistent standards are met with presentation
• Pricing products for merchandising as instructed by the Butchery Manager
• Keeping the department clean and presentable, following Health & Safety procedures 
• Taking Customer orders and enquiries where needed

• Able to communicate effectively
• Can comply with our Health & Safety and Food Control Plan
