Butchery Assistant - Part Time (Mornings)

We have an exciting Part Time opportunity available to join our Butchery Department at PAK’nSAVE Hastings!

Reporting to the Butchery Assistant Manager, you will contribute to the day-to-day running of the department by ensuring our meat case is fully stocked, well-presented and ready for customers. You will also help maintain a clean and attractive department, merchandise fresh product, and operate the Auto-Wrapper machine to ensure products are wrapped, packed and presented to a high standard.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in developing their skills beyond packaging and merchandising, with the potential to gain exposure to more hands-on butchery production tasks in the future.

The position's hours are as follows:

Sunday 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday 6:00am – 2:30pm (16 hours per week)

For this role, duties include but are not limited to:

• Restocking and merchandising meat products from racks prepared by butchers and packers throughout the day.
• Maintaining department cleanliness in line with scheduled cleaning requirements.
• Packing and pricing smallgoods, including sausages.
• Stocking pre-packed products, including sausages and chicken.
• Operating the Auto-Wrapper machine to ensure products are wrapped, packed and presented correctly.
• Supporting the wider butchery team with day-to-day production and merchandising tasks.

As you develop in the role, and if you are interested in broadening your skills and knowledge, there may be opportunities to receive training in additional butchery production tasks, such as mincing and chicken traying. This will allow you to gain greater exposure to the processes involved in preparing and producing meat products within our Butchery Department.
