Silverdale Pak'nSave is seeking 2 mature, passionate individuals to join our busy Butchery department as assistants.  The role will include meat packing, mincing, inwards goods, as well as various other tasks.  This role could lead into an apprenticeship role, so you will need to have to have an interest and passion in meat and a butchery environment.   

Previous butchery experience is preferred, but not essential.  You will have the ability to work independently, as well within a team and have good verbal communication skills.  You will have an eye for detail and be happy to work in a cold environment.  If this sounds like you we would love to hear from you.

 

The primary role of an assistant is:

  • Wrapping and packing meat products according to company guidelines
  • Ensuring all meat displayed in the case is correctly trayed, wrapped and labelled
  • Ensure that all products are stored correctly
  • Adhering to and implementing the company's food safety and health and safety guidelines
  • Adheres to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating market products. Ensures that coolers and freezers are organized according to Company guidelines.
  • Mincing product
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery
  • Assisting in ensuring 100% price integrity in the department 
  • Legally allowed to work in NZ

 

Physical demands:

  • Able to regularly lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 30kg
  • Constantly required to walk, bend, squat and/or kneel to pick up boxes and/or debris from floor or stock wagon.
  • Happy to work in a cold environment

Hours

Sunday to Thursday 0600 - 1600 

Tuesday to Saturday 0600 - 1600
