BUTCHERY ASSISTANT

We are looking for a Butchery Assistant to assist in the day-to-day running of our small but busy supermarket butchery.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will be responsible for assisting the Butchers.  This will include, but is not limited to, traying and wrapping meat as required and directed, ensuring the store is merchandised in an appealing manner at all times, cleaning the department, and other duties as specified by the Department Manager.

While previous experience in a retail butchery establishment would be an advantage, full training will be given to the right candidate.

POTENTIAL APPRENTICESHIP:

New World Karori has had a number of successful butchery apprentices over the years.
This role is a terrific gateway to being considered for this program, in which you will learn all aspects of the role, whilst being paid to work in our butchery, concluding the apprenticeship as a fully qualified butcher. 

This role of Butchery Assistant will give you an opportunity to demonstrate to the Butchery Manager that you are someone that should be given this opportunity.

ABOUT US:

New World Karori is part of the Foodstuffs Co-Operative. We are a locally owned and operated store that is committed to providing the best supermarket experience in Karori.   

HOURS:

This role is 5 days a week, starting early morning. Exact times to be discussed at interview.

As our butchery is a small department, it may be necessary to work additional or alternative days from time to time to assist in covering leave, sickness, busy periods etc.
