Butchery Knife-Hand – Full Time

Are you an experienced Knife-Hand looking for your next opportunity?

We are seeking a motivated and reliable person to join our busy Butchery team at New World Brookfield.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous butchery or knife-hand experience. While a formal qualification is not required, proven practical experience and strong knife skills are essential.

The Role

You will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and presentation of quality meat products while supporting the day-to-day operation of the department.

 

Duties include:

• Cutting, trimming and preparing meat products to specification
• Assisting with production and value-added lines
• Merchandising and replenishing displays
• Maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness
• Supporting stock rotation and minimising waste
• Delivering excellent customer service
• Working as part of a team to meet daily production targets

Must Have Skills

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous knife-hand or butchery experience
• Sound knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Good attention to detail
• Physical fitness to manage the demands of the role
• Flexibility to work early starts and weekends

Desired (But Not Essential)

It would be an advantage if you also have:

• Retail or supermarket butchery experience
• Boning experience
• Sausage-making or value-added product knowledge
• Experience with merchandising and display presentation
