Butchery Manager


New World Te Atatu are looking for an experienced Butchery Manager to join the new store. Opening August 2026, this is a rare opportunity to build up the butchery department from day one. 

$36+ per hour

Up to 45 hours per week | Tuesday to Saturday

Leading a team of 4 qualified butchers including a second-year apprentice.

Te Tūranga– About the role

  • Take full ownership of the butchery department including buying, pricing, rostering, food safety, and stock management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of butchers and apprentices to deliver excellence every day.
  • Ensure top-tier product quality and presentation, we want our displays to be fresh, attractive, and consistently on point
  • Create a department that customers trust by listening, adapting, and delivering what they want.
  • Drive commercial performance across sales, GP, wage control, and forecasting
  • Look for smarter ways to work by improving efficiency, productivity, and processes
  • Always maintain exceptional food safety and compliance standards

He kōrero mōu- About you

  • Qualified Butcher with proven experience leading a team.
  • Strong food safety and health & safety knowledge.
  • Previous experience with SAP is desirable. 
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and a good team player. 
  • Customer service experience.
