Butchery Manager

Location - New World Waihi
Job type – Full time, Permanent
Hours – Minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week
Salary - $40 - $45/hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
As our Butchery Manager, you will take total ownership of the department. You will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team, maintaining excellent presentation standards, and ensuring our customers receive an outstanding shopping experience every time they visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Butchery team while creating a positive and high-performing culture.
- Create a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Manage rostering, training, productivity, and labour costs efficiently.
- Ensure excellent customer service and top-tier product presentation.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, and inventory management.
- Drive department sales and profitability, with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales, gross profit, and productivity targets.
- Maintain food safety, health and safety, and compliance standards.
- Work closely with the wider leadership team to achieve store goals.
- Ensure counter displays are consistently full, visually appealing, and accurately ticketed.
What We're Looking For
- Must have management experience, ideally in retail, supermarkets, food service, hospitality, or a similar environment.
- Experience with SAP and inventory management systems.
- Ability to motivate, coach, hold a team accountable, and build strong relationships through excellent communication.
- Outstanding planning and organisational skills.
- Strong financial awareness with a proven ability to manage margins, waste, and profitability.
- A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
