Checkout Assistant Manager (2IC) - New World Point Chevalier 

We’re excited to announce that New World Point Chevalier will be joining the community later this year! With a brand-new store and impressive offering across grocery, butchery, deli, bakery, produce and liquor, we can’t wait to open our doors to the Point Chev community.

With our opening set for early September 2025, we’re currently seeking an experienced Checkout Assistant Manager to join the team. As a department leader, you’ll play an integral part in our journey towards a successful store opening and continuously deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our community.

The Role:

• Provide a high level of customer service and assisting customers where needed.
• Keep on top of customer flow and ensuringappropriate numbers of checkouts are always open.
• Train new checkout operators as required.
• Handle customer enquiries and complaints appropriately and always ensuring effective interactions with customers.
• Ensure high presentation standards for the checkout department & store.
• Build relationships with the wider team and leadership to get the very best results.
• Deputise for the Checkout Manager when required.

What are we looking for: 

• Previous checkout or supervisory experience.
• Great people skills and ability to lead/inspire your team.
• LCQ and/or Managers Certificate and experience selling alcohol.
• Reliable, honest and be a good team player.
• Proven customer service experience.
• Sound computer literacy and keen to learn and use the latest technology.
• Previous duty manager or sole charge experience advantageous.
