Checkout Assistants - New World Point Chevalier

Our Checkout team is the face of our store. For many customers, you're the last person they see before they leave, making every interaction an opportunity to create a positive experience. We're looking for team members who are friendly, reliable and genuinely enjoy helping others. If you're someone who stays calm under pressure, works well as part of a team, and takes pride in delivering outstanding service every time, we'd love to hear from you.

Position 1

Friday: 4:00pm – 9:00pm

Sunday: 9:00am – 6:00pm

Position 2

Thursday: 5:00pm – 9:00pm

Sunday: 11:00am – 7:30pm

What You'll Be Doing

• Serving customers quickly, accurately and with a friendly attitude.
• Processing purchases through the checkout and handling a variety of payment methods.
• Assisting customers with enquiries and ensuring they leave with a positive experience.
• Packing groceries with care and attention.
• Helping maintain a clean, organised and welcoming checkout area.
• Supporting the wider Checkout team with day-to-day tasks as required.

• Friendly, approachable and confident communicating with people.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy periods.
• Reliable, punctual and committed.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• Basic numeracy and computer skills.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is an advantage, but not essential.
• Lotto experience is preferred but not required.
