Checkout Manager - Join Our Team

About the Role

As our Checkout Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Checkout Department, ensuring our team is well organised, supported and consistently delivering excellent customer service.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Leading and supporting the Checkout team on a daily basis
  • Organising staff breaks and ensuring adequate checkout coverage
  • Monitoring staff performance, attendance and accountability
  • Ensuring checkout procedures and company policies are followed
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service
  • Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally
  • Supporting staff with training, coaching and development
  • Assisting with staff rostering and managing department coverage
  • Monitoring checkout operations, queues and service levels
  • Ensuring the department is clean, organised and well presented
  • Following cash-handling, security and operational procedures
  • Communicating effectively with the Store Management team
  • Helping identify opportunities to improve checkout processes and efficiency

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

 

 

  • Has previous supermarket, retail or customer service experience
  • Has leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a busy retail environment
  • Is confident managing and communicating with a diverse team
  • Has excellent customer service skills
  • Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise tasks
  • Can remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Is confident making decisions and addressing performance issues when required
  • Leads by example and takes pride in maintaining high standards
  • Has a positive, approachable and supportive attitude
  • Is flexible and willing to get involved wherever needed
