Checkout Operator

Our awesome checkout team put a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service, all whilst being a proactive, inclusive and connected team that has a bit of fun. We are looking for some like-minded people to join them. If you like a supportive team, with a friendly approach, a desire to excel and a little bit of healthy competition (our team always enters the Checker of the Year competition run by Foodstuffs) then we've got you covered. 

The role at a glance:

• Provide exceptional customer service at the checkouts
• Accurately scan products and pack into customer trolleys
• Accurately complete point of sales transactions whether cash or eftpos based
  
• Assisting with other tasks as directed by the Checkout Manager 
• Assisting across other areas of the store as required

• Be a reliable person with great time management
• Have a passion for providing an exceptional customer experience 
• Be detail focussed and have good mathematic skills
• Be physically fit - the role can be both busy and physically demanding (both volume and weight in products as well as the need to pack products which keeps you moving) 
• Follow health and safety policy, food safety policy and compliance procedures in the store.
• Previous cash-handling or checkout experience is desirable

The checkout team operates during our opening hours of 7am to 10pm and therefore shifts are considered to be either early, mid or late. We currently have a number of shifts available (listed below) which will be discussed with applicants at the phone screening stage of the recruitment process.

• Friday, Saturday and Sunday (early shift)
• Thursday, Friday and Saturday (mid shift)
• Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (late shift)
• Monday and Tuesday (early shift)
• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday (mixed shift times)

• All applicants must have the ability to work within NZ and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
