Compliance Manager Part-Time

We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused Part-Time Compliance Manager to join our team. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring our Health & Safety, Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance, and Certification programmes operate effectively across the store.

Working closely with Store Management and departmental teams, you'll be the subject matter expert who helps create a culture where compliance is simply the way we work. You'll be equally comfortable auditing systems, investigating incidents, coaching staff, and working alongside operational teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

• Lead and maintain the store's Health & Safety management systems.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard reviews, store audits, and safety inspections.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Support injury management and return-to-work processes.
• Facilitate Health & Safety committee meetings and support Health & Safety Representatives.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, communication, and training.

Food Safety & Compliance

• Oversee the Food Control Plan and ensure compliance with all food safety requirements.
• Ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
• Manage product recalls, customer complaints, and product rejections.
• Maintain compliance records and documentation to a high standard.
• Coordinate HACCP and food safety training programmes.
• Ensure regulatory requirements are communicated and implemented across all departments.

Regulatory & Operational Compliance

• Liaise with Foodstuffs support teams and external regulatory agencies.
• Manage certification programmes including forklift licences, equipment servicing, and compliance records.
• Support the management of Building Warrant of Fitness requirements.
• Ensure machinery, equipment, and operational systems remain compliant.
• Monitor compliance performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Compliance, Health & Safety, Food Safety, or Quality Assurance role.
• Experience managing a Food Control Plan or HACCP-based programme.
• Experience conducting audits and incident investigations.
• Strong computer skills including reporting and data management.
• First Aid Certificate preferred.
• FMCG, retail, supermarket, food production, or manufacturing experience highly regarded.
• Relevant industry qualifications or certifications would be advantageous.
