Compliance Manager

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Compliance Manager to lead our Health & Safety and Food Safety programmes and help us maintain the highest standards across our store.

About the Role

You will be responsible for leading and coordinating Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance throughout the business. You will work closely with department managers and team members to ensure legislative requirements, company standards, and best practices are consistently met.

This role offers approximately 30 hours per week, with flexibility around days and hours for the right candidate. This is a fixed term contract covering parental leave through to August 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

• Lead and maintain the store’s Health & Safety Management System.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act requirements and company policies.
• Investigate hazards, incidents, injuries and near misses, implementing effective corrective actions.
• Facilitate Health and Safety meetings and reporting.
• Drive a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the store.
• Coordinate training and maintain compliance records.
• Provide guidance and support to managers and team members on safe work practices.

Food Safety

• Maintain and oversee the store’s Food Safety Programme.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections and compliance checks.
• Monitor documentation, reporting requirements, and corrective actions.
• Ensure departments consistently meet food safety standards.
• Coordinate food safety training and awareness initiatives.
• Support internal and external food safety audits.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in Health & Safety, Food Safety, Compliance, or a related field along with an understanding of compliance systems and regulatory requirements.

You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will be confident coaching and supporting others, demonstrating sound judgment, problem solving ability, and a proactive approach to achieving positive outcomes.
