DELI/BAKERY ASSISTANT
We are looking for a Deli Assistant to assist in the day-to-day running of our small but busy supermarket service deli/bakery department.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our Service Deli and Bakery retails predominantly pre-packed product. You will be responsible for maintaining the display cabinets for the departments, ensuring they are well merchandised and attractive to customers.
Daily Production includes but is not limited to hot chickens and small goods,
finishing baked pastries, and pizzas from scratch.
Previous experience in a supermarket service deli would be an advantage, as
there is potential for this role to take over the day to day running of the
department entirely. If you’re someone
that loves to look for opportunities for growth in a department, and can handle
the day to day routine of a supermarket deli, this could be the role for you!
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL:
- Ideally have previous experience in a supermarket Service Deli.
- Value Punctuality and Reliability. One some days this role is the only person in the department – reliability is therefore a must!
- Have a terrific attitude.
- Be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
- Have a high standard of presentation and passion for the industry.
- Work well with others
- Be able to meet and exceed customer expectations; and
- Adhere to the store’s principles and values.
- Be physically fit, strong, and with no fear of rolling up their sleeves and getting some hard work done.
- Have an excellent ability to follow written and oral instruction.
- Value punctuality.

New World Karori is part of the Foodstuffs Co-Operative. We are a locally owned and operated store that is committed to providing the best supermarket experience in Karori.
HOURS:
This role is 5 days a week, Exact times to be discussed at interview.
As our service deli is a small department, it may be necessary to work additional or alternative days from time to time to assist in covering leave, sickness, busy periods etc.
