Deli/Seafood 2IC

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated Second-in-Charge (2IC) to join our busy Deli & Seafood Department.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced fresh-food environment, has good organisational skills and takes pride in producing quality food and providing excellent customer service.

About the role:

• Assist the Department Manager with the day-to-day running of the Deli & Seafood department
• Lead, support and motivate the team
• Assist with food preparation and production, including preparing and assembling our range of trayed-up meals and ready-to-go products
• Ensure products are prepared, packaged, labelled, displayed and rotated to a high standard
• Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, presentation and cleanliness
• Assist with stock management and ordering
• Use SAP and computer systems for ordering, stock control, inventory and other department requirements
• Provide friendly and helpful service to customers
• Help manage workflow and ensure daily production requirements are met
• Step up and take responsibility in the Department Manager’s absence

About you:

• Previous experience in a deli, seafood, fresh foods, food preparation or supermarket environment is preferred
• Enjoy working with food and are comfortable with hands-on preparation
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
• Comfortable learning and using computer systems for ordering and stock management
• Reliable, organised and able to work well under pressure
• A positive, hands-on approach and strong work ethic
• Flexible availability as one weekend shift required to be worked
