Dispatch Manager

Dispatch Manager — Gilmours Tauranga

Gilmours Tauranga, a busy wholesale food and beverage operation in Tauriko and part of the Foodstuffs North Island co-operative, is looking for an experienced Dispatch Manager to lead our transport and dispatch team.

Reporting to the Store Ops Manager, you'll own the end-to-end coordination of our delivery truck fleet — making sure orders, shipments and invoices get to our customers on time, in full and in great condition. It's a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday with rostered Saturdays | 45 hours per week - 4am starts | Permanent full-time

What you'll be doing

  • Leading, rostering and developing the driving, service and night-loading teams
  • Optimising truck runs and routes using carton-count and run-value reporting
  • Ensuring loads are efficiently and safely secured, with chilled/frozen items kept within temperature limits
  • Overseeing fleet roadworthiness — COF/WOF, RUC, servicing, daily checks and logbook compliance
  • Managing customer enquiries and complaints with professionalism (via CRM)
  • Keeping labour costs and wastage within budget while upholding our health, safety and food safety standards

What you'll bring

  • Full clean Class 2 licence (Class 2+ a plus)
  • Fork hoist licence
  • 3+ years' transport industry experience, including driving
  • Proven team leadership and a strongly customer-focused approach
  • Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail and comfort with computer systems (SAP/CRM experience an advantage)
  • The reliability and energy to thrive in an early-start operation

In return, you'll join a well-established, values-driven business — honest, respectful, customer-focused and committed to everyone going home safe — with the backing of the wider Foodstuffs network.
