New World Whitianga is looking for an experienced and motivated Dry Goods Manager to join our leadership team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is passionate about leading people, delivering outstanding customer service, and maintaining high merchandising standards.
As the Dry Goods Manager you will be responsible for leading the Grocery, Chilled, Frozen, and Liquor departments. You will work closely with the Store Manager and leadership team to drive sales, maximize productivity, and ensure exceptional standards across the department.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a large team.
- Manage daily department operations.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain high merchandising and presentation standards.
- Manage stock inventory and wastage.
- Ensure food safety and health and safety compliance.
- Achieve sales, wage, and productivity targets.
- Plan rosters and manage labour effectively.
- Work collaboratively with the wider leadership team.
What we are looking for:
- Previous supermarket or retail management experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience managing stock and inventory.
- A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required.
