Duty Manager


We are seeking an experienced, motivated individual to join the team as a full-time Duty Manager who in the absence of a manager will ensure a consistently fresh and appealing shopping experience for all customers. The successful applicant will ensure the stores appearance, security and productivity are maintained at all times, be flexible to work across all departments, be able to multi-task and have the confidence to effect closing procedures without supervision.  You will be accountable for supporting the operations of the supermarket.

 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

· Demonstrate a strong customer focus and competently deal with customer queries – authorize refunds

· Monitor checkout service and customer flow

· Ensuring end of day procedures are completed as per individual department requirements

· Ensuring the full range of grocery products available at all times

· Controlling store security at all times and ensuring is securely closed at the end of the day

· Maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring staff are compliant with all health and safety policies

· Build effective working relationships with the Department Managers and individual employees

· Monitoring department staff to ensure service and productivity levels are maintained

· Dealing with staff complaints, issues and enquiries as needed

· Ensure products recalls are carried out as necessary

· Driving the forklift to move stock and pallets

· Assist with filing shelves as needed

 

The successful applicant will:

· Previous supermarket experience is essential

· Have minimum one-year experience in a supervisory role

· Hold a current Duty Managers Certificate

· Hold a valid forklift license and have experience operating a forklift safely

· Tertiary qualification in business advantageous

· Experience with SAP to undertake limited processing

· Experience leading a team effectively

· Have a sound understanding of health and safety management responsibilities

· Have good communication skills

· Be physically fit and able to move stock and move between the different departments regularly

· Must be available to work late nights and weekends
