Floor Manager- afternoon/Evening shift

New World Pioneer are looking for a floor manager to run our afternoon/Evening shifts 4 nights a week and a Thursday day shift.

Sunday to Wednesday evenings 

Minimum 42.5 hours a week 

 

Duties in this role:

  • When acting as the most senior person on site after 5pm most days, you will be required to Oversee departmental operations, manage staff and make decisions with financial impact.This includes authorising refunds and discounts, approving product write-offs, and allocating labour in alignment with budgeted requirements.
  • Build effective working relationships with the department managers and individual employees.
  • Ensure product merchandising standards in the departments consistently provide an attractive shopping experience for the customers, meet established criteria and contribute to the overall impact and consistency of the store increasing the basket purchase size and share per customer.
  • Actively promote high quality customer service ensuring that staff present themselves professionally to store guidelines and meet the agreed service standard at all times.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across the departments in all areas relating to regulatory impact, including but not limited to compliance with store policies, The HACCP Program and health and safety program.
  • Ensure Foodstuffs’ New World promotional and pricing programmes are adopted and complemented with in-store department specific activity so that the store presents a competitive and brand consistent offer to the market at all times.
  • Ensuring the safety behavior of all staff, especially new, inexperienced and temporary staff, as well as contractors are properly managed through effective supervision.
  • Monitoring department staff to ensure service and productivity levels are maintained
  • Ensuring end of day procedures are completed as per individual department requirements
  • Ensuring the store is closed correctly at the end of the day.
  • Recruit and motivate the right people.
  • Training and Supervision of staff.
  • Help Maintain stock levels.

You must have:

  • A “Positive Attitude”
  • Well thought out decision process 
  • Proven “Communication Skills” 
  • Strong “Organisational Skills” with the ability to prioritise, organise and delegate.
  • Forklift license 
  • Duty managers license
  • At least 3 years experience in running teams of people in a busy community retail store 
  • Supervisory experience
  • Have experience using SAP
  • Physically Fit and able to fulfill the requirements of the role.

 

This role includes 1 weekend shift. 

Salary Range is 60,000- 70,000 dependent on experience
