FULL TIME Baker - New World Point Chevalier

At New World Point Chevalier, we’re passionate about delivering a fresh, friendly, and high-quality shopping experience for our community. We’re looking for a skilled andreliable Baker to join our busy Bakery team. Tuesday to Saturday 3am – 12:30pm

The Role

As a Baker, you’ll be a key part of the team that keeps our bakery cabinets full of delicious, fresh products every day. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and ideal for someone who enjoys early starts and takes pride in their craft. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, mixing, and baking a range of bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, and other bakery products.
• Producing and decorating baked goods to a consistently high standards.
• Monitoring product quality, freshness, and stock rotation throughout the day.
• Following all food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards.
• Minimising waste and maintaining accurate production schedules.
• Merchandising the bakery area to showcase products attractively.
• Assisting with customer service at the counter when required.
• Supporting the wider Bakery and store team to ensure smooth daily operations.

   

What We’re Looking For

We’re after someone who brings energy, care, and consistency to the role. You’ll be:

• An experienced Baker who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable with the early morning start times.
• Detail-oriented, with pride in presentation and quality.
• A team player who communicates well and supports colleagues.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage your workload effectively.
• Experienced in food retail or fresh food environments (preferred but not essential).
• Relevant bakery qualifications (e.g., NZQA unit standards 497, 167, and 168) are a plus but not required — what matters most is your skill, attitude, and commitment to great results.
