Fulltime Inventory Controller/SAP Champion


We are seeking a highly organised, analytical, and detail-focused Inventory Controller/SAP Champion to take ownership of inventory accuracy and stock management processes across our store. This is a specialist role responsible for maintaining inventory integrity, managing cycle counting programmes, investigating stock discrepancies, supporting SAP processes, and providing operational support to departments throughout the business. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate stock records, identifying process improvements, and helping drive operational excellence across the store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and oversee cycle count schedules and count documentation
  • Ensure cycle counts are completed accurately and within required timeframes
  • Analyse stock variances and investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies
  • Identify trends and recurring inventory issues and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor stock accuracy, gains, losses, stock credits, and inventory adjustments
  • Maintain stock control procedures and ensure product maintenance is accurate and up to date
  • Monitor stock in staging areas and reserve locations to ensure inventory integrity
  • Coordinate supplier returns, stock credits, and product recalls as required
  • Liaise with department managers, buyers, suppliers, and Foodstuffs support teams on stock-related matters
  • Prepare and communicate inventory reports, trends, and recommendations to store management
  • Champion SAP processes and support teams with inventory-related system requirements
  • Train and support team members involved in cycle counting and stock management activities
  • Assist with product ranging, new product setup, and stock location management
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, productivity, and operational efficiency
  • Deliver accurate inventory outcomes that support product availability and a better shopping experience for customers

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous inventory control, stock management, SAP, or retail operations experience
  • Strong understanding of inventory management processes and stock accuracy controls
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and data analysis
  • Experience investigating stock discrepancies and identifying root causes
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • SAP experience highly advantageous
  • FMCG, supermarket, food retail, or distribution experience preferred
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to train, coach, and support team members across the business
  • Strong problem-solving capability and continuous improvement mindset
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a retail environment
  • Physically capable of working within a busy supermarket environment
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational role

PAY RANGE:

$70,000 p/a ~ $100,000 p/a (depending on experience)

HOURS:

40 hours per week
